Trying to budget link building for next year and I realise I have no idea what’s normal anymore. Not asking about any vendor, just what it costs you in practice.
My own numbers from this year, in-house outreach for a B2B software site: roughly 6-8 hours of work per live link when I add up prospecting, writing, follow-ups and whatever content we had to create. Some weeks better, some worse.
Curious what others see, both for doing it yourself and for budgets if you pay for content or placements.
Similar ballpark. For a real site with actual traffic in a competitive niche I’d say 5-10 hours per link in-house is normal now. Anything faster usually means the site is lower quality than you think.
