Running a recipe blog for 4 years, around 600 recipes. From March to now sessions went from roughly 95k to 48k a month. Rankings didn’t disappear, but we slipped from positions 2-4 to 6-9 on most main recipes and the SERP now has a big carousel plus forum results on top.
I already cut the long intros and moved the recipe card higher on the page. Is anyone in the food space seeing recovery, or is this just the new normal for recipe sites?
Not food but similar pattern in hobby niches. What helped a friend with a baking site a bit was leaning into stuff the carousel can’t show well: substitutions, troubleshooting (why did my bread collapse etc), and actual process photos he took himself. Took about 3 months to see anything though. Don’t expect a quick bounce.
