Running SEO in-house for a mid-size online florist. In August our referring domains jumped from about 1,100 to 5,200. Almost all of it is garbage: foreign language casino pages, hacked WordPress installs, anchors like “cheap flowers delivery” and some adult stuff.

Rankings haven’t changed at all. Traffic is flat. No manual action.

My boss wants me to disavow everything. My instinct says Google has been ignoring this sort of thing for years and I’d be wasting time, maybe even messing something up if I disavow in bulk.

What would you actually do here:
    – nothing, and monitor
    – disavow at domain level just the worst stuff
    – disavow the lot to be safe

And if you’ve been through one of these attacks, did anything happen to rankings weeks later? Trying to give my boss something better than “trust me”.
