Quick one. A client’s writer has been bumping the “updated” date on 30-40 posts every month with maybe one sentence changed. They swear it keeps rankings fresh.
I think it’s pointless at best and a trust problem at worst, especially now that the date shows in results and people notice when “updated September 2026” has 2023 prices in it.
Am I being too strict? Has anyone tested date-only changes against real updates?
