We’ve got 14 calculators on a personal finance site: mortgage, loan repayment, savings, compound interest, and so on. Right now they all live on one “tools” page with tabs, driven by JavaScript.
That page ranks okay for “financial calculators” but nothing for “mortgage calculator” or “loan repayment calculator”, which are the terms that actually get volume.
Plan is to split them into individual pages, each with:
– the calculator itself
– a short explanation of the formula
– an example with real-looking numbers
– links to related guides
The hub stays as a directory.
For those who’ve built calculator or tool pages: how much text did you need around the tool to rank? Some top results are basically just the calculator, others have 2,000 words underneath. Curious what’s worked in your market.
