Pruned a 1,100-post blog last quarter. Removed roughly 400 posts that had under 10 clicks in 12 months, most redirected to related posts, some just 410’d.
Overall organic clicks dropped about 12% over the next 8 weeks. Some of the posts I removed were apparently getting long-tail impressions that GSC didn’t show well at the page level.
Did I prune too aggressively, or is this a normal dip before recovery? Would love to hear how others decided what to cut.
