Honest question. A couple of years ago I spent a lot of time adding FAQ and HowTo schema to client sites and it actually showed in the SERPs. Now most of that is gone and I rarely see rich results for anything except reviews, products and recipes.
For a normal service business or a blog, is it still worth maintaining schema beyond the basics? Or is it mostly busywork at this point?
Basics yes, everything else meh. Organization, breadcrumbs, product/offer if you sell stuff, article on blog posts. That takes an afternoon with a decent plugin or template and then you forget about it.
Writing custom nested schema for every page hoping for some visual boost is not worth it anymore imo.
