About 140 of my 300 blog posts sit in “Crawled – currently not indexed” in GSC. Site is 2 years old, no manual action, sitemap is fine, the pages return 200 and aren’t blocked.
I’ve tried requesting indexing on a few, some get in and drop out again a couple of weeks later.
For those of you who got out of this, what was it in the end? Content, internal links, something technical?
Almost always a quality/duplication signal in my experience, not a technical problem. Take 10 of those URLs and honestly compare them with what’s already ranking. If yours says the same thing with less detail, Google has no reason to keep it.
What worked for me: merged the weak ones into fewer, better posts with 301s, and linked the survivors from pages that already get traffic.
